12v lead on cigarette lighter?

12v lead on cigarette lighter?

There are two wires going to the cig lighter -

yellow w/ green stripe
black wire

I'm pretty sure the yellow is the 12v, but I just wanted to make sure so I don't fry my car.

There will be a positive and negative, black is always negative which makes the yellow wire positive.
