Subwoofer location? I know it's been talk alot....
I 've read that article on subwoofer location and the sound waves or whatever. It just just wasn't clear as far front, back and whatever. Do you put the speakers in the trunk with the speakers facing towards the front seats right behind the rear fold down seats? Do you put the speakers right behind the rear seats facing the trunk lid (back of car)? Or what I understood from the article, if your standing behind your car facing the front with your trunk up and look directly down, the subs would be there facing again the front of the of the car towards the driver-passenger seats?
Thanks Mohawkboom and Whiterabbit for answering my PM's I just need more info. I got conflicting answers which is why the post.
Thanks

I got really lost from your post, but I'm pretty sure that facing them rear towards the tail lights just a few inches from the back is the best. You can always try it out on the sub to see what sounds the best to you.

generally with the a few inches from the tail lights offers the best sound and most SPL.. however that's a bit impracticle as that leaves no room for cargo... Most folks press the box up against the rear seats and have the subs face the tail lights.....
I visited a local audio shop and was just asking questions until he started talking about a 2k1 coupe he worked on a while back. I know that car and it is freaking loud!! It has 2 Diamond Audio 12"s and a cheapo amp. He said what they did was make a custom enclosure so that the subs face the interior cabin beinhd the seats. He also said that the custom enclosure would seal the subs off from the trunk so the bass will not be noticeable from the trunk. They would also dynamat around it to prevent rattles. I hope you understand want Im talking about. Mohawkboom...can you please evaluate this??

I had my trunk setup like that when I was running my audiomobile EVO-R's. Ported tnclosure sealed off from the trunk, facing towards the passenger compartment. Ported for extra SPL and better low end extension (which you lose a bit of facing the sibs forward). SOunds quite good. also quite loud indeed....

at the back of the trunk facign forward offers the second best SPL... 3rd best is pressed agaisnt the back seat facing the trunk.. worse SPL.. against the back seat facing forward.....Some cars are different though...but in general..that's how it works.
