Well the 4000 series are pretty decent but I would go with either Bostan Acoustics , Diamond Audio or Polk MOMO's those are my fav becuase they can handle alot of power and they sound good becaue they dont destort when you drive them hard

A 12" JL W3 will work better than the MTX 4000s and take up less space.

What are you going to Amp them with? MTX sub reliablility isn't too great. Pioneer IMPP's sound better for the money and will last longer, or just buy one JL 12" W3.

OK.. Cheap pair if 10's that will bum quite nicely and sound pretty good. and last...

Cerwin Vega HED's they cost about the same as the MTX 4000's which do not in fact sound good at all. They have horrid frequency response...The Other subs mentioned are not that cheap...but there's even better than those for the same or less $$$

Cheers

i have mtx 12" subs and they hit hard as long as they r in a good box. If you could get them for a good price then i would recomend them. I got mine for a good price and highly recomend them. About them hitting hard mine hit so hard that my spare change in the cup holder rattles.

That's not hitting that hard...also there are 4000's. the 6000's and 8000's can hit mighty good...but as far as sounding good..well... the 4000's certainly don't.. For change rattling, it takes 1 12" sub in .88 cu.ft to do that with about 400 watts .. Now if your kidneys get sore..then it's loud .

I bought one of those MTX Thunderforms for my 1999 Dakota..it had two 10's in it and I ran 75rms watts to each one and it sounded really good. I could be mistaken but didn't MTX make a 5000 series also? I think they have since quit production...not sure on that. Anyway the subs that came in it weren't the 4000's is all i can tell you ..and they sounded excellent.
