Remote Wire help

Where do I run the remote wire when I have the factory deck. I read it was to the power wire of the deck. What is the easiest way to locate the wire?

i forget teh color of this wiree, but its teh ACC wire, the wire that is only a +12 source when teh key is in teh ignition. you want to tap into this wire and run it to wherever your amps are.

I also reccommend you throw a switch in there, otherwise your amp will be on as long as the car is on.

a good way to test before you run your wires is to have the amp sitting in your lap, then conect your remote wire. the amp should remain off. then put teh key in, the amp should turn on. thats how you know you got teh right wire.

Will I have to take my deck out or can I locate it from under the dash. Also cant I just use regular speaker wire for the remote?

you can use very small wire for the remote if you like..... but youll have to take your deck out, unless you wanna fish around your steering colum looking for the ignition wire

That is what I did. I ran two remote wires (one for each amp) from the cigarette lighter wires. I also put two switches into that console that houses the cigarette lighter. Should have my system done wiht pics by this friday.
