getting remote start!

having an lx, I have been craving keyless entry and bought a pretty nice alarm set. comes with 2 pagers, LCD screens contains remote start feature and only cost me $189. on top of that I have a bud who is gonna install it for me for $50. Going to the dealership tomorrow to get a wiring diagram. I'll more than likely do a review. keep a look out, i ordered it last night!

auto starts the best! haha its the only thing i like about having an automatic tranny. not only is it good when its cold....but its even more fun to turn it on when someones standing there checkin your car out when they think you arent around.

a bit stupid to have a remote start with a manual... u gotta have ur car parked in nuetral in order for it to work. and besides by getting a remote start u have to "cut the key" which kinda defeats the purpose of the chip in the key..meaning its easier to steal.

Cut the key?
I went to a couple different shops around here. There are 2 different types of modules to over ride the Chip-key thing. One needs an key, and one overrides it without using one of your keys. Dont ask me how it works, but they have said it does.

First of all parking in neutral is really no problem....your car came equiped with a parking brake at no additional charge, it's pretty useful when parking....and second of all you do cut the valet key and put it in a transponder box to disarm the factory immobilizer when remote starting.....but this box should not be found if your installer is any good at his/her job......the wire on this thing is about 3 ft long......long enough to tuck this thing way up under the dash far out of sight and reach of the badguys trying to steal your ride.......there is another way around this with another transponder box that uses various resitors to bypass the immobilizer in the vehicle....from my experiance this unit does not work quite as well, but it does the job
