Getting power to the rear?

Hi Guys,

Done my last car with a pretty decent setup, doin up the civic the same, sedan 2001 model 1.7l no vtec etc etc. Aussie model, but seems to be 100% the same as the yank model.

How'd you guys get your power to the rear? I'm usin amps and I always use large cabling(read 4 gauge) got all my battery connectors and stuff and insulators and dist blocks & fuses.. Where should I put it through the firewall?

I've found like a possible point behind two hoses and one of the aircon hoses seems to run very close to it.. it's plastic/rubber and I can push on it a fair bit and all it seems to do is flex like a baloon?

in my old telstar there was a thing like that and i cut it with a pocket knife and put my 4ga straight through to the rear...

let me know...

passenger footwell peel back the carpet and you'll see the rubber grommet in the floor where the wires come through the firewall...looking from the engine bay it's just under the intake resonator....you'll probably need to x-acto knife the grommet slightly to make it larger for your 4g to fit through..

once through you can run it under the door sills and to the back...

4 Guage? Geez, that's thick. Anyway...

Underneath the resonator there is a hose that runs through a rubber seal in the firewall. I just punched a hole in that seal and ran my power cable through there.

As far as inside the car, I pulled all the plastic panels off the side and ran the cable under the plastic on the passenger's side door jamb, behind the plastic side wall and into the trunk. Rather time consuming, but all in all it's a nice installation.
