sub problems... wiring? (long)

I've got 2 JL 12w3's and a RF Power 500.1. First off, I want to make sure that this amp will properly power these two subs. I just built a box with one tilted side, the measurements are: height-16", width 38.25", depth on top- 9", depth on bottom-13" Now, my feeling is that something is wrong with the wiring so that I'm not powering the subs enough... at the least, I have no clue now... I wired the subs so that a positive from one voice coil is connected to a negative of the other voice coils. I then connected the remaining positive and negative to each sub's respective terminal. (they have their own chamber) I then put a wire to the positive from each sub and twisted them together at the other end of the wire, connecting that end to amp. Same with negatives.

So where does my problem lie? My friend, who is also no audio expert, said that I might not be powering the subs enough and that I'll need a stronger amp. I have an appointment with Cartoys tomorrow morning anyway, but I just wanted to see if I could have my questions answered now... Thanks all.

Heh, well in other words, its wired the way the picture shows. I get sound, but its not hitting properly. I dont get the same deep bass like I did with the one 12w3: muffled and the sound quality is crap.

Hmm. well I'm pretty sure its not a leak, and I doubt I blew a sub... maybe I fried the amp. I guess I'll see tomorrow, thanks.
