Rep Power: 0 Trunk revamp!
Been working on my 2005 Civic VP for the past few months, doing a few upgrades to it to make my drive to/from work a little less painful each day. So far, I've done;
- Big-3 upgrade
- 4-ga. grounding to trans/engine/chassis/valve cover/battery
- 8K HID lighting
- Yellow Ebay fog light kit
- '97 Si 15" alloys
- remote power lock kit
- 2003 cluster + EL backlit gauge face set
- SS braided brake lines
- Injen SR intake
- Tune-up + NGK Iridium plugs
-...and a few other items I am forgetting.....
But the best by-far was upgrading the audio for my 40+mile trip to work. I upgraded to a Kenwood KDC-BT858 Bluetooth head unit with Kenwood components in the front and Rockford 6.75" components in the back(Yep, they fit fine!) and an Alpine Type-R 10" sub. Here's what it USED to look like:
And here's what it looks like after the weekend redux:
Very happy with it so far. Just need to add a handle to the removable panel to access the full-size spare underneath
Took a lot of patience and measuring, but I'm very happy with the results. Thanks to this forum for giving me the inspiration to do so!

Thanks, guys. I was inspired by diskreet's DIY (now almosrt a decade old) trunk project. It was fun to do, and I love looking at it now rather than worrying something will slide around or short out.

Thanks. I might pass on putting the brushed nickel hinges on the spare tire panel, and just make it removeable. It seats in perfectly snug, with no vibration or torqueing. I WILL nowever, use the brushed nickel cabinet handle, just need to screw it on.
