Rep Power: 0 D.I.Y. 7th gen civic cluster swap ABS light indicator removal FIXED!!! w/pictures
I recently did the popular LX, EX, cluster mod upgrade on my DX and like everyone who has done this i was stumped on how to remove the ABS indicator light from the cluster, because the DX model did not come with ABS having that light on all the time would get pretty annoying, so after a few tries i was able to solve the issue. (PLEASE ATTEMPT AT YOUR OWN RISK just saying)
Its as simple as grounding a wire that's it! specifically the BLUe/REd wire on the blue cluster plug. Since ive had hard time finding how this is done online and many still are looking for exactly how to do it well here it is pictures below how i did mine successfully:
First you will follow this diagram i used this and it worked like a charm:
as the instructions mentioned in the end do exactly as that here is what i did and worked. of course with the cluster still out and wires re-pinned here is what you do locate the the blue cluster plug:
next you will look at the back of the plug and locate the blue/red wire, assuming you have already done the re-pinning and all worked before attempting to do this next step then you will now cut the blue/red wire.
next what i did is get a spare same gauge wire im thinking 16 or 18 gauge and i connected one end of that wire to the wire closest to the plug:
now all you have to do from here is solder heatshrink or like what i did just electric tape it:
after thats done i connected a small terminal ring on the other end and all you have to do next is find a grounding point and your Done!!! make sure to tape off any other exposed wires.... i grounded mine on the mounting screw of the lower side of the cluster you can have it on another area but this looked like it worked plus its still close to the cluster:
Once that's done put everything back and enjoy your cluster with no ABS light indicator on
It was my first time doing this and im glad it worked out in the end. Hopefully this information will be of good use and a good addition..Shout out to the 7th Gen civics running in this small Island of GUAM!!! and definitely to all the 7th gen civic fans worldwide lets keep it going!!!
Thanks in advance. ....Bejado....
