1st Time Civic Owner - AC Light & Blinker Issues

Hi All,

I helped my sister buy a 2001 Civic LX last weekend and there are a few issues I need your help diagnosing.

When the left blinker turns on in the cluster, the right blinker actually flashes and the whole cluster goes on and off
The AC lights and everything beside it don't turn on

I'd really like help in trying to fix this. I feel bad because I was told the lights are just bulbs that need to be replaced and I didn't notice the lights going out when we checked the blinkers. It was day and it wasn't too noticeable. Im trying to fix this for my sister.

I don't have an answer, but I'd first go around and observe all lighting inside and outside, make notes of everything that isn't exactly perfect.
Add them all up and see if maybe the answer is hiding there....

Do the outside parking lights also flash as the dash illumination does with the blinker on?
Do the right blinkers flash as the right indicator does, even though the left was selected?
