Rear AUX on Clarion DB225 Front Speakers No Signal Input
Rear AUX on Clarion DB225 Front Speakers No Signal Input
Okay this is kind of a messy story, but please bear with me:
The 2001 DX I bought came with a Clarion DB225 (a really really old model) with no AUX input, CD doesn't work either. So I saw a Youtube video where this guy plugged in a RCA-3.5mm audio cable to the system, and it could play my iPod so I thought I'd give it a shot, cuz the cable is quite cheap.
I took out the stereo and plugged in the cable and the other end to my iPod. It worked, but only for the rear speakers. The front speakers had the radio static, but no iPod signal. If I turn the volume loud enough, I can hear the radio in the front, the radio AND the iPod in the rear. However, doesn't matter how loud I am, the iPod input stays the same volume.
I can conclude that the front speakers work, for the radio works perfectly on front and rear speakers. So regardless of the volume problem, how can I feed sound to the front speakers as well? The front speakers are receiving radio signals, but not the RCA signal from the iPod.
Any solutions to this problem?
Thanks!

Re: Rear AUX on Clarion DB225 Front Speakers No Signal Input
If you are using the rear RCA jacks that are normally used for an amp then it may not be amplifiying your iPod sound output enough. Your iPod by itself does not have enough power to drive a car speaker so it needs something to amplify the sound.
Try messing with the setting on the radio. You might be able to adjust it so you can hear it.

That's why you can't really hear your iPod, the reason its only playing in the rear speakers might have something to do with the RCA input you are using.
Might be best to just buy a new updated head unit. They are not expensive and you could get one with Bluetooth/USB/AUX.
