Headlight/ Battery question

My bulbs seem to be burning out quick and I'm not using cheap bulbs. When i bought the car it had a battery that a garage told me was for a half ton truck. I didn't think anything of it at that the time but now 9 months later ive been having electrical problems and bulbs burning out fast. I took my multi volt meter and tested my battery its putting out 30.4 volts it sounds like a lot to me. At the headlights im getting 30.4 volts as well but on high beams one of my power wires doesn't get any power on the passenger side. Im thinking there is a short in that wire but not 100% sure.

Re: Headlight/ Battery question

Quit, or failing? Big difference.

Exactly how are the headlight bulbs failing? What part goes bad? Post pics or something.

You do not have 30.4 volts.

You can run the car on a lawn tractor battery or a semi-truck bttery. The car doesn't care, as long as it is a 12v battery.

Did you fix the DRL controller?

You are probably burning out headlight bulbs because you touched the glass.
Read the warnings on the box.
And get name brand bulbs that are NOT made in China.

Get 2 brand new headlight bulbs, sealed in an unopened package. Install properly.

They keep burning out, My multi volt reader said 30.4 maybe i had it on the wrong setting ill do it again tomorrow to make sure. I havent touched the drl controller yet. Im not touching the bulbs im not an idiot and they are good bulbs there brand new silverstar. I just put a brand new set in today and my drl passenger and highbeam passenger doesn't work so there is def a problem in the wiring or something.

Re: Headlight/ Battery question

Silverstar bulbs are NOT good, for one. They have a very short life span and are not designed for longetivity. Your best bet is to buy the cheap set of bulbs that are stock in color. As soon as you buy those "Fake HID" bulbs you cut the life span to about 10% of the bulb life.

Sounds to me like you have electrical issues though and ezone is the best guy to help with that Just figured I'd put my input in on bulbs.
