well here is the deal i did not want to pay a pro to hook up my system so i had a buddy hook it up for free well for starters he cut my stock stero plug insted of buying a harness adapter kit and i have some problems with some of my dash lights and my brain stoped working[my cars brain] and was wondren if any dash lights or my brain tied into my stero plug please help me 2002 civic

Check for blown fuses. If there is a fuse blown its blown for a reason and you need to redo the install. Most likely he hooked up the illuminator wire which your not supposed to do on these cars because it fries things

Any head unit connections made to factory RED or RED/BLK should be isolated...and check called "small lights" fuse and without more info as to what else failed I would check the fuse outside called "back up"
