Keyless entry honda civic 03
hi,
I have a 03 Honda civic with power door lock and keyless entry, i want to add a viper keyless entry to it.
I searched lots of forums asnd found out that there is a factory alarm plug which is green above drivers kick panel where i will get most of the wires am looking for.
I found the grren plug got all wire colors as described but the prob is that they dont work at all. Door pin sensor does not show ground when door is open, negative parking light wire does not fucntion neither does the red wire for trunck sensor.
Am totally stuck with this...can someone help me plz.
if ever u did a keyless install how did u get the wires needed???

Pony up, get a real wiring diagram.
Once you have that, then you can begin to understand how to wire in an aftermarket unit using the security and keyless harnesses, if possible.
Remember, the cars have the MICU (body control unit) that may cause headaches because it might not allow some of the aftermarket stuff to work as designed (or desired). Or the factory stuff might not work right anymore.

The only way to install it is by using the factory alarm plug. it contains the door sensor, trunk sensor, parking light trigger.
But these wires not not fucntion when tested with a multimeter or whatever.
Is there a way to make these wires fucntion? because its the only place where i can get all these wires together.

I insatlled a remote start/keyless entry system into my 01. That's not the only place to get all the wires but it is the easiest. I will try to find the paper I used with all of the colors. I was able to use that harness for the door trigger, dome light and I believe the lock unlock. Unless your not measuring ground properly everything you need should be at that plug.

Here is what I used when I did my remote start. This is for my 01.

Here is one for your 03

This is not something that you want to take as 100% accurate, its more of a starting place. I actually found some stuff that was a little different on my car so you need to use a multimeter and check to make sure that it's the proper wire and whether it is (-) or (+) triggered. If I have time tonight I'll see of I can find the info I wrote down, but I don't know if it will be the same for your car, hence why you still need to poke around with a meter.

the only prob am having is that the Door triggers and trunck triggerm and parking light trigger do not work in the factory alarm plug. when i test them with a meter they show nothing. are they controlled by fuse or something? hpw come door triggers dnt work in the factory alalrm plug
Re: Keyless entry honda civic 03
You can get the parking lights from the steering colume light switch. The door and trunk trigger your going to have to trace the group of wires from the alarm plug back to another point. You might be able to get it down by the driver kick panel. That's really weird that it's not working at the plug! If your parking lights or dome light are not working then a fuse could be blown.
