Best Stereo System
Best Stereo System
Just thinking of adding a little something to my 03 Civic. What's the best sub to add to a civic that won't make everything rattle. Also, are the stock speakers good enough to handle a sub and an amp or will I need to buy speakers as well?
Re: Best Stereo System
Just a single 12" sub will sound great, Kicker makes great, affordable products.
As far as new speakers go, you do not need them for what you want, stock will work great for a small setup.
Heres a nice setup, everything you need for some bump, for only $200.

Re: Best Stereo System
the best stereo system is the one u can afford.
it would be useless if we recommended you a system that would be 10x the cost of your car
so with that said, what is your price range and what are you looking for?
and any and every sub was rattle your car...thats not solely dependent on the sub. you have a whole buncha loose junk in your car that needs to be taken care of if u dont want to hear rattle.

Re: Best Stereo System
I'm not looking for something overly expensive. ($200-$300)
As far as rattle goes, what I meant is that I don't want a super crazy sub that rattles my windows and dash. I just want something to give a little extra base to my music.
Also, how complicated is the installation? Is it a DIY?

Installation is pretty simple, so yes. Its a DIY project. You can search google to get all the installation info you need.

Yes, Ive always used Kicker products. Im running their products in my car right now. I love them!
And a useful tip, purchase your stereo equipment online! You will end up paying A LOT more if you go to a local place that sells stereo equipment. For example: that Kicker CVR in the link I sent you is $150 alone at Best Buy! So dont waste your money!!
Any other questions just ask, I have a lot of experience with car stereos.

Re: Best Stereo System
just get a good headunit an a subwoofer/amp
for 90% of us, you wont really need to upgrade speakers.
stock speakers, upgraded headunit, sub+amp will allow you to enjoy your music with some nice notes.

i just bought 3 10" 250 RMS Watt MTX Thunder 5000 with a 280 amp. I keep the bass at a moderate level but it sounds really nice. You dont need much for a decent amount of bass
