Bad Cluster 888888 odometer reading

I have a 2001 honda civic lx. The problem is the odometer reads 888888, the fuel guage is not accurate, and sometimes the tach does not work, the green light around the D also blinks. Then out of nowhere everything is fine. Srs light is also on.

Alternator and battery check good. I tried the cluster test, hold the trip milage, lights on off, e ct ect. The odometer read 888888 ab trip mileage before the test. aFTER THE test the check engine light blinked 5 times. I have no codes, and the check engine light never comes on when running.
From what I have read it sounds like i need to replace the whole cluster. I have spent the better part of a day reading about this. Can someone please help me. No one has had any luck with a loose wire or bad ground, and me baging the dash yeilded no results

Re: Bad Cluster 888888 odometer reading

there could be a couple of things:
1. ur tach is bad
2. you have some loose wire connecting ur tach to ur ECU
3. ur multiplex is shot (rare but possible. i had to replace mine)
