CD player install issue
Friend of mines dad has a 02...
when he bought it..it already had a alpine unit in it. well it quit working out of no where..so he bought a new head unit..i wired it up and put it in..and nothing. so to test the wiring in it..i hooked it up to my truck and checked it..and thats fine...i have checked all of the fuses...and apparently the fuse block under the dash is not getting power.....
comments n suggestions please

Re: CD player install issue
Umm not sure,.fuse 10 if I remember under the hood controls the power for the radio but your also saying there's no power under the dash aswell.
So theres not door chime, doors don't lock with power buttons and seat belt light don't work and other things right.
But I don't think there's anything down there for radio tho I could be wrong.

Re: CD player install issue
Your going to probably have to check the wires going to the fuse box, if they are all good you have to see where there is a break in the line. Just my guess.
Re: CD player install issue
well i only checked the radio fuse it self...the power d/l and windows work..door chime works...all that works...i dont remember what fuse it was i checked but according to the diagram it was the "radio acc" and for ***** n giggles i checked the one marked "r/c" under the dash, but also under the hood i pulled every fuse and they was all fine. the "radio acc" is the one i checked the actual power to and i got nothing.
Re: CD player install issue
So if all does work than your getting power under the dash. There is two wires for power one constant from the battery and one from the fuse just double check your getting power from does and check your ground. Triple check the under the hood fuse labled backup if I remember correctly, that's the one from the fuses.
Re: CD player install issue
the wireharness i had clips onto the factory harness and i just had to wire the radio harness to the new after market harness..i checked the 3 wires in the harness that i spliced together (power, ground and 12volt) and they was fine (when i checked in my truck)...maybe i will look at it again tomorrow sometime. its just weird cause i hooked it up to my after market harness in my truck and its fine..but then i put it back together n put it back in the civic..and its a no go
