Replacing all four speakers
Replacing all four speakers
Hi!
I recently replaced my headunit with a Pioneer Avic-X930BT. I am now looking at replacing the speakers. The front left one has been blown for awhile, and I figure might as well replace all four.
I am looking at the Pioneer TS-D1602R , everywhere I look says it will fit except crutchfield. Will it fit?
For the back speakers, it looks like they are 6x9 (despite crutchfield saying they are 6 1/2) so I am considering TS-D6902R. Would those fit?
Finally, what else is needed for the installer (I am just going to pay someone to do the install) besides ordering the speakers? Is there any installation junk needed like there was for the headunit? (head unit needed wireharness and faceplate)

Re: Replacing all four speakers
Nothing else is needed, just make sure that he cuts the wires as close as possible to the old ones and keeps the plug from the old ones so it'll be like stock. I just did my back ones again yesterday. I had Polk db 512's and put in alpines in the back. fronts are still polk, but the alpines sound terrific

Re: Replacing all four speakers
do you have a coupe or sedan?
you really don't need to worry about the rear speakers. i would just throw some cheap ones in the rear and get a nice pair of components up front along with a 2 ch. amp.

Re: Replacing all four speakers
It is a sedan
Also, I did read those directions, but they confused me a bit. It looked like you said you can only do upto 1.5 deep, but then you had a 2 and added an additional .5
The ones I am looking at are(6.5 speakers)
Mounting Depth 2-3/8" Cut-Out Dimensions 5"
I THINK those are too big, so the next size down is (5.25 speakers)
Mounting Depth 2-1/4" Cut-Out Dimensions 4-3/4"
Which doesn't seem much difference. So I wonder if I can use the first ones...
Any idea?
Since its a sedan, that means 6.5 all around, right? So will the 6.5 fit all around? or do I need the 5.25? (Dimensions from pioneer's website are listed above)
