Rep Power: 0 Car off, door ajar, lights on, no beeping
Good evening, 7th gen!
Situation: The "hey idiot, your lights are on" beeping noise is supposed to come on when you turn off your car and open your door to remind you that your battery will die if you don't turn off your lights. That noise has been absent from my car for a while now, but it hasn't bothered me until I've let my battery die twice in the past few months. Would anyone know why or how I could fix this?
Thanks in advance!
- Josh

does the ignition *beep beep beep beep* still work when you leave the key in and the door open?

No it does not.
(Thank you again, Gearbox, for the Radio Code help a few months back last time this happened. Thankfully I saved the code so I don't have to keep bothering you!)

Same problem on my 03 LX
Searched the forum here and found this:

Just take off that light switch in the door jam, try to get the switch
out with the wires attached. That rubber covers the switch holder,
I was able to press the switch back into the holder, it only goes one
way. Check driver and passenger side.
TaDa! Twenty minutes and zero dollars. No more dead batteries.
Thank you CivicForums.com and all the smart people who post here!
Peace, Bob

if your dome light does not come on when the driver door is open, its the door switch as mentioned. if the light DOES come on, its the beeper in the gauge cluster assembly. it could also be a loose wire or connector in the steering column by the ignition.
