On my new 2004 Civic DX, the sliding off/on button seems to be gone and the light is out, forgot to notice it before I bought it. How can I fix this? I am a newb with cars =[

Wifes got the car now. So if no one answers this question for you by tomorrow evening ill create a detailed DIY with pictures, of course, on some of the things that could be wrong and how, where , and what to check. In the mean time I would suggest not worring about it as that problem is not critical to the functioning of the car.

you could easily replace it its just held on by a screw once you get the plastic cover of then search ebay,craigslist,junkyards for a used one you mite also be able to purchase a new one here http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/
