Had the same problem....here are the links I used to repair it.

Got the part at RockAuto.com. Here is a link for that:

A little tough but with patience it was worth doing it myself because I'm sure the dealer would of been outrageously expensive.

Good luck!

Re: Driver side power lock problems

As for not being able to lock the door with the switch, thats a safety feature. Even if your power lock worked it wouldnt do that. It doesnt lock if the door is open if your keys are in the ignition, so you don't lock yourself out. What you need to do is pull on the handle then hit the switch if you want to lock with the door open. Or use your key from the outside once the doors closed.

Change the actuator and you'll be good. Very common problem for one of the actuators to stop working.

Re: Driver side power lock problems

Hi everyone, I have the same problem of driver door lock and would appreciate if anyone could help me out. I already replace the Actuator of my car Honda Civic2003 but it works in a week only. Now I could not lock the door by remote and key either. What can I do now ? As I know that going to dealer for fixing this problem is very expensive. Any recommendation is appreciated. Thanks
