Adding passenger door power lock
Adding passenger door power lock
I am planning on installing an actuator for the passenger lock in my 01 LX 2-door. The driver side is power but the passenger is manual. How many countless millions in production costs they saved on this brilliant move, I'll never know. Alls I want is for the compustar alarm to lock/unlock both doors when I tell it to. Thus I figure on running the two new actuator wires across the car to splice into the lock/unlock wires for the existing driver side lock at the point where they enter the boot by the driver side kick panel. That way, every time the the driver side locks/unlocks, so does the passenger. Question: will this work the way i've described; do the actuator wires need their own relays or is there enough current in those wires to go around?
Re: Adding passenger door power lock
Probably, my car's driver door actuator is busted so i can use the power locks on the passenger side, but i have to lock the drivers side manually before the passenger side can work :P You can order and replace the actuator yourself from majestic honda, the dealer wanted $81 for the actuator but majestic sells for like $25 or something.
Re: Adding passenger door power lock
I guess its possible, I have had the car for a year and I always assumed that no actuator existed. If there is an actuator where would is be located relatively to the rest of the locking assembly?
Thanks dudes
