subs

My friend was moving my subs around and when he started disconnecting stuff all of a sudden a spark came out of no where. I have a lightning audio wiring kit with Rockrord Fosgate subs and amp. He told me the spark came from the fuse distribution block and that he removed the fuses to see what was wrong. I reconnected everything and now my SUBS DONT WORK! People said that you are not suppose to remove the fuses while having everything connected to the battery is this true? I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO NEXT, someone PLEASE help!

That is very true..!!.. ALWAYS disconnct the black battery terminal when working with ANY wiring inside the car.. also do you have a capacitor as well?.. if not it may have been the amps internal capactitors discharging.

Cheers

Mohawk is correct. Your amps have HUGE capacitors in them, storing enough energy to make a spark even when disconnected from the battery.

As for your subs not working, does the power light on the amp come on when you turn the radio on? If not, get a volt meter or test light, and touch it to the positive and negative terminals of your amp. See if there is power at the terminals. If so, you probably popped the amps internal fuse. If not, you just have some faulty wiring somewhere. Check the power at the fuse distrubution block. Also check the remote turn on lead when the radio is on. Don't be worried. Just take a little time and figure it out.
