2k1 Civ Ex "Small Light" Fuse
Ok been a while since i've been here. I installed my head unit back in may and everything has been fine since then, now out of nowhere i'm blowing my small light fuse. I've capped all the wires not used and i am still blowing this fuse. What else should I check? i know this topic has been done but i have not found a solution yet. plx halp

would be a problem with ur headunit. something might have shorted in there. try unplugging the HU and seeing if ur "small light" fuse will still blow. (drive around with the headunit taken out/unpluggged)

Word, i'll give that a shot. Another thing I noticed last night is when the lights are on the air circulation button is orange the a/c button is orange but the rear defroster button is not orange. If i turn on the rear defroster the yellow light works but not the illumination of the white symbols like the other 2 buttons.

All of the dimmable illumination is on the same circuit. If you locate and repair the short it should return them all to operating.
Is the fuse opening the second you turn the lights on ??

iirc the factory colors to investigate are RED (voltage variable via the dimmer circuit) and RED/BLACK (on switched side of taillight relay) (same as tail & markers wire colors)
If you used a harness adaptor check the outputs that tied into these 2 (did your new headunit dim at night when the lights were switched on ??) disconnect & isolate these leads from the harness adaptor wires.

Fuse #2 15Amp Under-Hood Box is small light = tails/markers/licence lights etc... The dash lights are also part of the circuit.
If all are missing all your dash lights check the fuse (you would be missing above lights as well) If only a few are out it is likely some of the neo-wedge bulbs have failed.
