Speaker Install dilema

So I'm wondering how difficult is it to install a set of component speakers in my coupe??? I have the directions via DIY and have read previous posts. I was told by an audio shop today that they want $120 to install them, (plan on buying components from another place otherwise install would only be $50, but its still cheeper to pay for a full install from them than what they want for the same speakers) but they'd do the dynamat for free (as long as I buy it from them) and they would make me spacers. I know that this place does a good job but is $120 a lot for something like this. I'm thinking about doing it myself. I have really no experience with installing speakers except for some minor things on friends cars (very very basic). Someone else just got their civic done by them and they did a great job, wondering if it's worth saving the money or not????

Do it yourself!

even if you have to buy a jigsaw to cut your spacers out of MDF , it would be a very rewarding saturday afternoon job. I did mine and it sound and looks great! There is a nice feeling about doing somethings to your own car and this install is one of the easy ones.

If you don't know what to do , this is the right forum to ask questions, even if you think it sound dumb. The guys, and myself would love to help out as much as we can.

See if there is someone in here that lives close to you, maybe they can help!
Good Luck, it's really not that difficult.

MDF = Medium density fiberboard...It is located at all decent hardware stores (Home depot). This is basically just a type of wood used in most high quality cabnets and counters as well as the standard for use in high car audio.
