yearning quality bass

okay, here's my situation...from my old car i have my vega 12 sub + 2cu/ft box and MTX 500D amp. i don't really want to put that combo into my 'vic because 1.) it's way too big of a box and 2.) the vega was loud but didn't have much in terms of sound quality (IMHO). i was thinking about keeping my amp and ditching the sub. what kind of sub would you all recommend. i don't want something really loud. i'm looking for tight, punchy, quality bass. (in a small enclosure, perhaps a 10?)

well with MTX 500D.. sound quality..stillg et fairly loud.. handle alot of power.. 4 choices immediately come to mind..

In this order:
Image Dynamics IDMAX\
Audiomobile MASS 2012 DVC 4ohm
Eclipse 881200 (aluminum cone)
Kicker Solo L7 (if used in a small sealed enclosure)

All these will offer great sound quality.. good low end extension (specially the MASS) handle the 800+ watts your amp puts out.. and hit pretty hard.

Cheers
Mohawk

And for you rabbit.. 5th choice.. Adire Audio SHiva! (but requires a fairly large enclosure)

haha mohawk... 800 is too much for a shiva!

but then again...... TWO shiva..... isobaric box........ a little over one cubic foot sealed....... drool...... hahahhahahaha

i was gonna say infinity perfect, but that really cant take the power either.

my vote here is IDMAX, i got a buddy who has a single IDMAX in a sealed box with 900 watts, sounds awesome, full SQ install for bass, and still got it metered to 140.5 dB.......

its kinda a big box tho.........

two shiva = $250 shipped haha ^.^

L7 for SQ thats not funny hahaha

i'd look in to the IDMAX subs, but i'd like to stray away from the big azz boxes. the 2 cu ft. box i have now is way to big for me. i need what little cargo space there is in my coupe.

the IDMAX works great in 1.5cu.ft which is what most people from other forums are dropping them into. an Eclipse alum single 4ohm VC wokrs wonders in 1.25 cu.ft the L7 can work in as little as .88cu.ft, preferable 1-1.3 cu.ft tho.

Cheers
