95 civic rear defrost issue

When I hit the rear defrost button it lights up and the left side connector to the window grid has power and the other side does not, however I am told this is suppose to be just a ground. Anyone know where else I can look, Im assuming the relay is good since there is power at the window.
Thanks,

Re: 95 civic rear defrost issue

in any electrical circuit, if you have a broken wire, you'll read voltage to ground on one side and nothing to ground on the other (ground to ground = 0v). so, if you have a multimeter, check for voltage to ground on the one side. if you have power, turn everything off and set the meter to ohms (if you don't go to the other side that does have power). then go to the other side (power off) and check for 0 ohms (or less than ~1-2 ohms) to ground. if you have that, then you have a problem with the heating elements embedded in the window. if you don't have that, you have a power problem in the harness in the car.
