HID Projector Kits.

I need to replace my Silverstar bulbs once again, so I've been considering upgrading to an set of HID headlights, but ruled it out since I don't want to annoy other drivers. I also ruled out building a set of proper retros, I simply don't have the time or money with school at the moment. On another forum someone suggested I look into an HID projector kit, so I checked it out on ebay and was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on them?

This is the cheap kit I was looking at:

Re: HID Projector Kits.

those are garbage. if youre doing a projector pnp retrofit, the morimoto mini h1 projectors from theretrofitsource.com are the best. in fact they vastly outperform many oem projectors like bosch, valeo, etc. very simple install. open the headlights, take off the glare shield, put the projector in the H4 bulb hole, tighten the rear locking nut. use stock aiming for up/down, and you can rotate the projector to level the beams before the final nut tightening. completely removable if needed. no cutting.

if its too much work, go with H4 halogen bulbs philips xp or xv from www.powerbulbs.com and im surprised you use silverstars. one of the worst bulbs you can buy.

Re: HID Projector Kits.

The silverstars have never impressed me, but they're the best the auto parts store carries so I've used them for awhile now. In hindsight I wish I'd saved my money..

I know those ebay kits are junk, I was just waiting for you to post and steer me in the right direction lol. What are your thoughts on the morimoto HID kit, since I don't have ballasts or bulbs that looked like a great deal.
