How do I hookup my iPod to my stock CD player?
I looked at the back of the stock CD player today and the CD changer connection looks totally proprietary.
Does anyone know what the pin-outs are? Mainly I'm looking for left, right and ground, but does anyone know if there are other wires I need to connect to tell the stock CD player that there is something connected to it?
BTW, I'm connecting and iPod. Does anyone know if I can get the connector from the dealer and what part number it is?
Thanks, Ian

I thought about going to an aftermarket deck, which would make this easy, but I'm happy with the CD player for now.
My experience with other dealers is that they either won't know how to do it or they will just want to sell me a CD changer, but maybe my luck will be better with Honda dealers.

ipod, sweet my friend, another fellow mac user. Hey which program do you use to download music from the net? I'm trying to find one thats mac friendly. In answer to your question, the way I would do it is with an aftermarket deck. By the time you spend the money on a fm modulator, you loose sound quality, and you still have your stock deck. I'd recommend getting something like the JVC deck which has a MP3 miniplug imput on the front of the deck, that way you put your ipod in the cd tray underneath the deck, run 1 wire and it'll look real clean.

For sound quality reasons, I'm really not willing to go with an FM modulator or Tape module, I really want a line input of some sort.
Your suggestion of the JVC aftermarket deck sounds convenient. If I was going to go aftermarket, I would probably like to get a deck with some type of XM Radio functionality as well.
Most of my MP3's are ripped directly from CD, since that way I'm guaranteed of their quality. I've also used Limewire, which works pretty well with the JDK 1.3 update OSX had fairly recently.

Yeah, the 10GB one is amazing. I got a good deal on the 5GB, $300 w/tax, so I took it. As much as I love it, $500 for an MP3 player is just too much. If I could use it as a digital photo album too and download photos direclty from my digital camera, then that would be completely worth it
I haven't tried AudioGalaxy. I use Kazaa at work on my PC, but I think limewire is a bit better.
If I have time, I'm going to drop by the dealer and see if they have any thoughts on the adapter.
