Rep Power: 0 6X9 not fitting, trunk bars interfere
Gah, all that work pulling out my rear deck, and when I put in my new 6X9's they hit those bars that go across the trunk, I'm assuming their purpose is to hold up the trunk, and the magnet is too deep on my new speakers. Is there any way to keep the bars, or will I just have to hold the trunk up with my hand when I open it now?

Rep Power: 313 those damn things are always in teh way. put in infinity 6x9... they in the way for that..... put in gas strut.... they interfere with that..... not enough force to lift on own...... trunk too weak to hold the force of teh strutt..... want a big box so the top of the box hits teh springs...
so much crap!
but i have a solution!
you pull out teh junk 6x9, and tehn you REVERSE teh trunk springs. they stick UP, not dow, and everything is nice and tucked away. never see it again. plenty of room, and looks nice.
and THEN when you get yoru gas strut, you dont gotta worry about strenght. something real weak can lift up your trunk casue teh spring does 95% of the work!

Rep Power: 0 The struts i used were 50lb/force.....with two of them I think i'll be fine. I almost broke my knuckel though cutting out the factory springs I was bloody for a while, but WELL WORTH IT. I like the clean and custom look of the struts.

Rep Power: 0 Thanx a lot! I got my Infinitis last fall, and I didn't use my trunk anymore cuz it was a pain to hold up. I took out the springs and got lucky and did not hurt myself. I ordered the springs last night. but I'm pretty handy with fixing things; I just have to hope for the best. Thanx again!!!

Rep Power: 0 hey guys. I got my shocks today. Does anyone know how the safety clips got on. Do i put the ball in the socket, then add the safety clip or add the safetly clip first?
Nevermind, I figured it out, the ball goes in the socket, then i tried inserting the safety clip, and and it cliped onthe outside of the socket, hard to explain. thanx

Rep Power: 0 I still havent put in the springs yet, but I plan on doing it this weekend. I also got some foam baffles from cruthfield, they blocke mosture and act like an enclosure for your speakers, its a good idea to get some, cost me like 8 for the 6x9s and 7 for the 6.5s. I also order the pioneer OEL 9400 head unit, that will come in Monday. I also ordered got a dash kit from Crutchfield, it looks sparkly like the stock mount, so hopefully it will look good. I want to put my own compartment underneath like the EX model where it has the door. I was going to cut the bottom half of the kit, doesn anybody know if that would work? Or does anybody know if there is a dashkit for just the top portion?
I bought a set of Acura GSR rims for my car. The rims are a little scratched up like they were never cleaned. I tried using any possible to clean them, but nothign worked. What I plan on doing is sandblasting them to get the clear coat off, then I am going to take them to my other buddy and put a fresh clear coat, it should look cleaner and newer my friends tell me. As soon as I'm done, I'll borrow my friend's camera and take some good clear pictures. Otherwise it will be pointless cuz my car kinda looks stock now. I'll keep you guys posted on this.
