Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
Both of my headlights are kinda messed up, one side is cracked in some area because of an old guy who clipped my car so water always gets in it, and the other one has some weird dirt-like stuff in it that i'm not sure how got there. Rather than trying to fix them, i'd like to use my situation as an excuse to get some new headlights.
I saw some on ebay that look alright, but was wondering if anyone else had any opinions on a good set that would look nice. HID's would be cool to get too, but I'm not exactly sure how to hook them up with the ballast and such..
Anyways here's an oldish pic of my car for reference:

and what do you guys think about the halo lights? I personally think they look pretty cool, but I don't want it to seem to ricey

Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
I got some TYC projectors and made my own angel eyes. And painted the housings to match my car.. Light output kinda sucks compared to stock, but oh well.

Just gotta make sure that if you get aftermarket projectors, re-seal the seams because they're sealed pretty shitty from the factory.
And as for HIDs, I'd say save up and get a retrofit done, but seeing as how I have it done the "plug n play" kit way... yea..

Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
those look awesome, I don't really wanna do anything more than just put in the new headlights and plug everything in though, so not gonna be making my own angel eyes or anything. :P
After looking around though I think I'm just gonna go with some ebay projectors for now, and maybe some other time convert them to HIDs with one of those plug and play kits, I don't really wanna spend a lot of money on getting a retrofit done since headlights aren't too high of a concern.
How would I go about resealing them though? is there just some stuff I can buy from autozone or wherever and put it on or is there something else involved in it? probably a stupid question but never really did anything with headlights or electrical stuff at all outside of putting in a head unit
edit: I'm thinking of maybe just getting a pair like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-02...Q5fAccessories
do the halos turn on with regular lights or are they always on?

They should be wired to turn on with your parking lights.
As far as resealing them, I'd wait for Gearbox to chime in. He'd know the best way to go about doing so. I just used some sealant RTV, but it makes it a huge pain in the *** when I wanna crack 'em open again.
DDMtuning.com sells a pretty cheap HID plug and play kit. So far I've had no problems.

It's called 3M windoweld ribbon sealer. Gearbox swears by it I guess, it comes in a roll and you shove it in the channel, heat it up and press the halves together Basically quoting gearbox here.

Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
the first pic was a test light of the CCFL ring, so no other lights were lit. That picture was actually taken in my bedroom using 8 AA batteries as a 12V power supply.
The light output isn't terrible, but the beam pattern is hella narrow compared to stock

That does not look too bad at all. It is a bit narrow but that wouldn't really be a big deal. Headlights look sweet though.

Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
That's my 35W 5000k kit. I have a 55W 8000K kit now..
I gotta fix something on the passenger side. There seems to be a chunk of light missing for one reason or another
I think my ghetto lens bracket fix is causing a bit of distortion. Time to make one out of 26ga steel instead of a coke can. lol
And I have it wired so my low beams stay on with the high beams
I also spent a pretty penny on some switchback LED bulbs for my turn signals (6000K white with parking lights, flash amber with the turn signal activated) and my parking lights have 5 or 9 (forgot) SMD LEDs.

^ LOL I wonder how much of that would be illegal here... stupid government. I don't even think we are allowed to clear our turn signals any more, let alone use white or blue lights.

O_o really? That sucks.. I like my bright white lights.. I should take some video of how the switchback lights work.. they're kinda cool. But now that I put those in, my parking lights look a bit out of place because they're a slightly warmer color.

Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
tycs have the best look of the aftermarket lights imo. i have the chrome ones and they almost look stock.
Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
Anyone have the dual halos ? and pics of the light output. they look hella sick, and i can deal with light loss, just wanna see the output. Also, where did you get angel eyes for your TYC's xRiCeBoYx?
Re: Looking for some nice headlights (2003 EM2 Civic)
If you buy off eBay be careful, the set I purchased had the wrong socket size for the parking and driving light bulbs. I live in Alaska so sending back would have been costly so drilled out the holes a used hot glue to hold the bulbs in place. Not the best fix but figure with new bulbs I shouldn’t have to deal with them for a while. The head light bulb socket was fine and the fit was ok otherwise.

The high beam area on the bezel might fit a 120mm CCFL ring from a fan.. I'd have to measure it though.
