Thinking about a new battery
Thinking about a new battery
I want to get a new battery pretty soon as mine seems/looks pretty damn old, not sure exactly the age because I bought the civic in February with 125k miles on it. I also put a system in last month and I have a capacitor but I don't want a week battery causing my alternator to go out.
So what batteries does everyone here recommend? I saw the Optima yellowtop D51 fits the civic LX but I don't need that much, unless I pounded my system with the car off all the time. What battery is a close second or has been pretty liable for you?

Re: Thinking about a new battery
i like to go with regular lead acid batteries personally, they last a long time and are reliable so long as you check the fluid level and add distilled water every so often to keep it full. if you want to stick with the oem group 51 size to have it fit right, most place have 500CCA batteries which are better than the original 420. i went with an autocraft titanium from advance auto, but the honda dealer also carries the upgraded 51 size in 500cca too (i think from interstate battery co).
