Air Bag Troubles

i have a 98 civic 4 door. anyhow i got a mouse stuck in my car at one point so i had to tare the dash apart to get the stinky dead rat out of there. got it out and put everything back and my srs light is on. now the airback on the pass side i pulled real hard on the wire that goes into the airbag not knowing about the clip. so i thought this was the problem. so i got a new airback from the junkyard and put it in there. reset the computer by unplugging the ground for about 15 seconds....and started it up and the srs light is still on...

any suggestions??

what exactly does the srs light mean? is there anyway use the odb II hook up to see what exactly the problem is. because i believe i went to autozone and the error codes were pretty vague.....

anyhow any help would be appreciated....

thanks, Matt

Re: Air Bag Troubles

obd ii won't detect SRS codes. did you try to reset the SRS? there's post about this for the 7th gen, not sure if it's the same for the 6th gen.

Re: Air Bag Troubles

search for SRS reset. on the 7th gen, you pull a connector under the steering wheel and jumper out 2 terminals in various sequences while the SRS light flashes.

Re: Air Bag Troubles

Tip: Use a jumper wire instead of the SCS service connector shown in the diagram.
