Headlight housing replacement

My old housing is really blurry from inside, So I am gonna buy a new one and replace it myself. Any advice what i should be cautious about?
Step by step procedure would be very helpful.
I got a 2001 civic coupe EX.

Re: Headlight housing replacement

there is a diy here about how to clear headlights and it goes step by step. all you really do is remove the bumper, its held on with a bunch of clips and screws on the bottom and sides, and some under the hood where the radiator cover is, then it just pulls off. the headlights just have 4 bolts to remove.

Re: Headlight housing replacement

heres a tip if u do decide to remove the bumper.

gearbox mentioned those "clips", i would spray some sort of "bolt loosener" spray on them (like PB blaster, or even WD40) to loosen the dirt and crap build up IN them.

you can avoid breaking the clips that way.

Re: Headlight housing replacement

prolly better to replace those clips anyway. alot of times they are too stretched out to work again without being loose. and they sell them in bulk on ebay for much cheaper than oem.

i'd buy some extra off ebay. chances are a couple of the are scraped up under the car anyway. unless the car's never scraped a curb.
