Wavebox For Subs
I don't care what kind of subs you have, how big, how small, how many, or how much they cost, this is the ultimate solution to all subwoofer purchases. Let's say you want a 12" Rockford fosgate sub, so the normal person would go to crutchfield.com or go to best buy or something and buy it. Once you buy that for $130, you have to get an amp. You get the right amp with some good power and clean sound and you pay about 250$. Then you have to buy a box for your sub which a good quality one is about 100$.
Forget that stuff. Why waste money, Why waste trunk space. there is a new technology for subwoofer boxes called waveboxes. Sound Sensations in Marietta, Georgia is the only place with this patened technology and it sounds better than anything i've heard. The guys over there grabbed the cheapest sub in the store, an audiobahn 10" 89$ sub, 100 watt amp, and a set of kenwood 6 1/2" speakers, they installed them in a car. The sub was only being pushed by 35 watts from this amp, which most of u know, some HU's provide more power than that. while installing i went and sat in a 350z with 4 12's and 2 10's with over 2000 Watts of power. Sounded nice as hell. I went in sat in the other car listened to the same song and the sound the this car was probly twice as good as the 4 12's an 2 10's. The way they did it, Wavebox. It was an idea that Bose had a couple years back. What it is, is a subwoofer box specifically design to each sub and each vehicle and if you were to put a diff. sub in any wavebox it would probly blow the sub and if not it would sound like crap. The sound waves travel almost through a maze to create a smoooth, yet hard hitting bass that couldnt be recreated.
I know i sound like a commercial but search on the web for these uys and give them a call, They can hoook u up with any custom enclosure with there new technology, that i swear to god is not B.S. Im getting a wavebox with that same audiobahn 10 in my civic, and its gonna be awesome...
sorry for typing so much crap that alot of people probly dont care about but im just so excited! woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!

the wave box is a cheap imitation of the original box technology brought to you by Virtual Technologies... the wave box is an attempt to duplicate the VT box... yes, the VT and WaveBox do produce great sounding performance, but they are designed more for the VT subs... how do i know this you may ask? because i have been using all VT stuff since their inception in the car audio world... the wave box is built on the samae platform, but it isnt as well constructed and doesn't use the same cutting technologies as VT does... the box will sound good enough with any sub, but i gurantee you that you put any sub of a certain size in the box, then put a VT sub in the same box, the VT sub will outperform it, because the box is built for this sub... you really want to pound, get a VT deadblow, it will run you about 2400, but in a VT box built to spec, as they are, it will pound... that is going to be what i will be using when i build my SPL competition vehicle... but for now, i will be blaring my VT RIP hammer or my VT hammer Pro in the box... they also build amps which when coupled with their subs perform outstandingly well... i have always stood by VT, as some of you may well know... i am not knocking the WaveBox, but if i were to buy a box of this type, then I'd get the original... here is a link to their site Virtual Technologies

also, the box from VT comes unfinished, you can carpet, or whatever... the majority of them ar esprayed with either VT spray, or if they are as mine is, are sprayed with spray in bed liner... which further seals the box... but when i get the dead blows, the box will be specifically designed for the vehicle and sub...
hey question this box....http://virtual-technologies.com/cgi-...duct_Code=TR10
Will this work really well with an infinty kappa perfect dvq......or will it not make that much of a difference?
Whats the difference between these and normal proted boxes?? Thanks!

okay just to make clear again, a wavebox is designed specifically to any sub and mostlikely wont work with any other sub because of ech sub and vehicle dimensions, which are put into consideration while making the box.

VT didnt use any "cutting edge technologies"
nor did the wavebox people.
VT took a quite old concept in sound, called a transmission line enclosure, and basically marketed it to you people whi think its the all holy creation in teh world. a transmission line enclosure is basically built upon the resonant frequency of your sub vs the diameter if your sub. with those 2 numbers, i can tell you EXACT sizes for them. if you go to an imax theater, in the back theyve got these gigantic boxes with subs in em, and sometimes you can actually see in and see the snaking ports. that is a transmission line radio. take apart one of those bose wave radios, youll see ports snaking throughout the radio, that is a transmission line enclosure.

Just wondering, do you remember this video of a huge box that had just on or two 6.5" Audiobahn subs that was hitting incredibly low and the people in the video were comparing it to 2 10s and such. Was that a transmission line?

i didn't say they were anything new, i said their cutting equipment is higher quality they use better equipment to make the cuts on the mdf, i didnt say it was cutting edge technology, i said cutting technology, meaning the technology they use to cut the mdf... as far as the wave box, build one for any sub, you put that sub in it, then put a VT sub in the same box, it will play louder i promise, we have tried it with my ex-gf's wavebox built for her kicker comp vr, she put it in there and then i put my VT in there (the same box and same amp) only thing we did was swapped out the woofer, and the VT was louder... it works everytime... VT works most efficient in that type of box... as far as the kappa goes, i am not sure as to how they perform in there, i have never tried an infinity in a VT box, but with every sub i have tried in a VT box (MTX, RF, Kicker, Infinity, etc.) there was an increase in performance, or according to the dB meter there was... as for the difference in these boxes vs a normal ported box, as ludlam said it is a transmission line enclosure, the port snakes it's way through the box... my guess is it has something to do with the air traveling farther...
Yeah..Uhm..Uh..I've got 2-12" Polk running 500w@2ohm in a Bandpass Enclosure. Pushes out about 168spl at 75% usage. I have a great understanding of the technologies yall are talking about(listen to a Bose Wave Radio) Henry Koss developed all of this years ago. Anyways I'd be very impressed to hear any single 12" or 10" or 2-10"s or whatever..Sound Like Mine. Good luck with all the fancy pricey stuff though. And remember Henry Koss invented BASS Reflex as we know it so if you want to really know how things work check out some of his stuff.

168 db's of spl with 2 12" polk's and only 500 w rms in a bandpass box at 75% volume?
you my friend have somehow managed to break the laws of physics.
I was wondering if that guys meter was worth a crap. Thank You. I've done a-lot of installs and been into bass for about 15years. Never as a pro or for contests though. So this friend of a friend (we know where this is going) had what he said was and appeared to be a SPL meter in his car. Needless to say it must have been a piece-o-junk. I've read a few mags. in my life and it seemed a bit high for what I'm running. I still say it slams and I want to have a meter put on it soon so I can figure out what's next.
Thanks for catchin' me dorkin' it

Re: Wavebox For Subs
Meggamaxx is the Exclusive builder for Wavebox Now. Actually alot of the information in this thread is not correct. The Builder of Wavebox actually was a partner in a venture that housed VT. VT stopped building enclosures years ago. It is true that there are many people that think they can duplicate Wavebox, but in fact there is a computer Program that many people have tried to copy, and been unsuccessful. Their is only one Builder of Wavebox, and He was building this enclosure 20 years before the first VT Box was created. Here at Meggamaxx, we actually give every prospective customer a Sound Demonstration, and tell them the best setup for their car. So anyone that is interested in Having the most "BASS" their car can have please visit our Showroom Location in Marietta Georgia, where we produce Custom Waveboxes everyday.

Re: Wavebox For Subs
Aren't these things the same size if not bigger? See picture at http://www.meggamaxx.com/product/4/979 and on the bench in the back I believe are 12s or 15s. Its a cool concept, if you can find any documentation on it but until an actual metered video review hits the internet...I'll stick to manufacturer displacement or badpass.
