Re: Speaker Problem

check to see if u actually soldered/tapped the correct wires. also check the HU's functions and see if ur front speaker is turned on.

Re: Speaker Problem

thats so weird. if you put the old deck back in, does it work again? whats the new deck, sony? did you press the RESET button on the face of the new deck? usually behind the faceplate you push in with a pen. must be reset after a new install or strange things happen.

The old deck was panosonic, new deck is kenwood. i havent tried the reset button yet. i have had the battery disconnected a few times since install, not sure if that would do the same thing or not?

Took the speaker out and put it on the right side and the speaker works fine. so i know the speaker is good.

Re: Speaker Problem

it will not. reset button must be pressed anytime power is disconnected and reconnected from the unit.

Re: Speaker Problem

Well i tried the reset button, nothing changed, same problem. Any other ideas? my brother replaced his HU with a new one, same model and same thing happened. If it helps, the model number is KDC-HD942U, from kenwood. not sure if there are any serious kenwood guys on here or not.

Re: Speaker Problem

k not sure if this helps. girl got me the KDC-MP642U for our anniversary basically yours minus the HD tuner. After the install i noticed the rear left speaker wasn't workin checked everything and after about 45 mins of head scratchin and beind pissed i said f it. i unplugged the speaker for reasons i dont remember and then about a week ago i plugged it in and it works all of a sudden. No clue why but it does. I would say just give it time and itll work or if you wanna make absolute sure you didn't f up wiring pull the deck out and just wire the speaker directly to the front left wires

Re: Speaker Problem

might be an issue with that model of kenwood deck, maybe a problem with the internal amp.
