car audio wiring problems
car audio wiring problems
im new here but this is a really great forum. i have an odd problem that im trying to work out.
so i bought a used 02 civic ex coup. and it had an after market stereo, amp, and sub in it.
the problem im having is that i tried to switch out the crappy pioneer stereo with my nicer alpine and failed to noticed that the wires in the plug were in different positions then what my stereo needed. so when i plugged it in and started the car the stereo didnt work (obviously).
but now there are alot of smaller problems. the amp wont come on, when the car is off and the door is opened the interior light doesnt come on, and when i turn the car off with the headlights on the warning sound doesnt play either.
i've gone through and checked the some of the fuses (radio acc and some others) and i've put the old stereo back in as well as test both stereos with another car and they both still work. ive also re crimped the wires for my stereo and that doesnt help.
i've also checked the wire that provides power to the stereo and it still provides power so im unsure of what to do now.

Re: car audio wiring problems
I don't know about your dome light or headlight warning sound, but about the amp turning on. Did you connect the remote amp-turn on lead directly into your amp from your head unit?
