hmmm. never heard of that one. the amp may have something built in to do that. my father in law had an RSX Type S. i was never really impressed with the sub performance.

well im really not aiming for alot of bass, if i would though i have 2 kicker solobarics under my bed that would do that for me.. i think i might have it figured out but wont know till i go to lunch to try it out. Im going to run an rca from the sub out jack on the radio i spliced the cables and im going to run them to the input of the sub.. if all goes well i shall be able to adjust the sub level from the radio

ok well its up and working, its a nice clean sound to it nothing major...
there are 4 cable on the plug that goes into the woofer.. in my case
white = +
black = -
green white stripe = + input
green = - input
i ran a positive from a switched source
negative to the body..
and for the input i ran and rca and plugged one end into the sub out of in my case SONY radio.
the other end i cut the end off and splice the two inner cable to the input on the plug for the amp.. the rca has the male part which is positive and the outer is negative..
saying that now i can turn the bass on and off as i please with the subwoofer output on my radio hope some one else will do this.. if you need pictures ill try to get some.

fair enough. i used to run dual solo-baric's, so i know what that's like. just didn't know what your expectations were. i run a single 12" Kicker Comp now on a 200w RMS amp, and it's way more than i need. civics just don't need that much bass.

one guy did it already, but its just not that great of a setup by any means. its just a single sub in a poor enclosure.

Well I'm glad that worked out for you. It always seems to me that the people who try to do those 'I just want a little bass to balance the sound' type jobs end up doing way more work than everyone else who does it the normal way.
I'd like to see a pic or two if you don't mind though!
