Memphis components

I'm planning on upgrading my fronts as well as my rears and was suggested to get Memphis Car Audio. Has anyone heard them or even in a Civic? I'm really impress with the reviews on Memphis. I wanna make sure they will sound nice considering that I may need to do some mods to hsve them fit.

Re: Memphis components

I have memphis speakers all the way around. Love them. They are connected to my Alpine deck with no amp. In order to mazimize sound, you could get a little amp to power them. they are the best speakers I have owned. You might need to get dynamat for the front doors though. Mine seem to rattle a bit, but I think that happens with any aftermaket speaker.

Re: Memphis components

Thanks guys for the feedback. I originally was planning on getting a straight Alpine system since I have 2 Alpine head units & amps to choose from. But when I got turned to a set of Memphis MCS6, I was amazed on how they sound. They have a fuller all around sound than a set of Type-R in my opinon.

Do you have 6.5 or 6X9 in the rear? If you have 6X9s, how do they sound? I'm pretty sold on the Memphis.

Re: Memphis components

I have Memphis PR class 6x9s in the rear, and memphis 6.5 m class in the front.

They sound amazing.

Also have 2 12" Memphis MOJO's in the trunk, powered by a Memphis MOJO amp (1500 RMS, tested 1557 true RMS)

Re: Memphis components

Alpine make incredible head units. Memphis make better speakers though. It never hurts to have a mismatched system as companies specialize in their fields, which is why Memphis makes better speakers!

Did the 6.5 MClass drop right in or did you needed to get a pair of adapters to modify. How about the 6x9s, did they drop in or did you had to modify for them to fit.

I may sound a bit retarded but I am thinking as far as how much work and modification must be don for them to fit oppose to getting like a set of Infinity components that drops right in and fit perfectly. Thanks!
