hooking up the HO alternator to the ELD

ok this picture is not mine but here is an idea

[dont pay attention to the redbox for all you guys dont know that is the ELD] NEWAY LOL - at the bottom of the picture/fuse box there is two red bolts with red heatshrink and terminal ring. well i understand those two wires goes straight to the battery, the original is two white wires going to the battery well if i take the original one's off and replace it with one 4ga wire to the battery and one 4ga wire coming from my HO Alternator. will everything be ok and will the ELD control the high's and lows of the HO alternator? and also is there a difference between the left terminal and the right terminal as pictured above

Re: hooking up the HO alternator to the ELD

Why do you need to change the size of the wires going to the body electronics? the wires can handle what it will pull, i dont get why everyone swaps these, the car isnt going to start drawing crazy amps now that the alt can produce higher numbers, if your hooking up a high current amplifier, you may want to include a jumper from the alt screw to the battery.
