ehh, i would buy a new battery, the higher the CCA the better. batteries do get old, so check the sticker on the battery to make sure you get a fresh one. usually theres a small round sticker on the battery case that says 01/08 or something so that means january 2008 was when it got made. dont get one thats over a few months old.

oo alright but um i kno that they specify the diff batteries by the size for the vehicle and all that..would it really matter if i got one made to fit in my engine bay or could i get like one of those 1000+CCA batteries for trucks and just put it in the trunk and rewire it up? n if thats the case of just CCA can i just buy like a cheap brand any size battery aslong as its higher CCA? or does it have to b a small size like that to work right with my vehicle?

the durlast (sp) yellow tops are just about the best batteries you can get w.o spending an arm and a leg....
they perform as well as the optimas...the only reason why the optimas are "better" is because they are dry-cell and not acid based.

yea well idk if i misheard or something but i think autozone here gave a 5yr warranty idk maybe it was something else but yea i was this close to gettin a duralast gold but didnt have the cash
oh well but also id like to kno is the whole "TOP" thing like a specialty? or will a standard like trucksize battery at 440CCA word as good as a gold top rated at 450CCA (not same CCA but just bear with it) im meaning like is it just cuz the amps? cuz civic batt is small but if i get a standard biggersized battery rated at same CCA as a performance one would it b same? or is there really sumtin special bout the gold/yellow tops versus the regulars? and is the optima deep cycle really all that or just a new method of making the batt?

Re: Battery mix n match is it possible?
i went with autocraft titanium with 500CCA and it was still a group51 battery so it fit in the stock cover and holder. has 3 yr warranty which i guess doesnt matter since theres no advance auto nearby, but oh well. i would always take lead acid battery over anything else. just check the level every few months and add distilled water to keep it full.

Re: Battery mix n match is it possible?
dry cell was origionally developed for the military usage. it did not use acid/lead to draw/hold its power....and in turn, this dry cell technology was used for mainly airplanes....because on a regular lead/acid battery, when the plane flew upside down, the acid would spill and the battery would be ruined...thats the basic history of dry cell
