Question 01 Civic EX Sedan - Headlight Replacement Options

Hello everyone,

I'm having a hard time finding specific information on replacing headlights on my civic. I need to install 4-corner strobes (I do D.O.T work) and do not want to pay $200-$300 per assembly from Honda for OEM only to drill into them for the strobes. I did find a lot of general information regarding OEM vs AM parts here and that it's probably going to be a 50/50 chance of leaks and what not.

I found lights from TYC and Go-Part but I know nothing about them and can't really find any reviews about them either. Would these BASIC lights be a good replacement solution for me, especially since I need to install strobes Is there a better solution? Is OEM the only way to go?

You can view the TYC lights here:
http://www.amazon.com/20-5949-00-200...4648680&sr=8-5

You can view the Go-Part lights here:
http://www.amazon.com/01-03-HONDA-He...4649771&sr=8-3

Would I be making a mistake by not ponying up cash for OEM lights or will I be OK with these AM ones?

Thanks in advance for any help whatsoever!

Yes, I am replacing the stock lights with new stock lights then installing strobes in them. Very simple thing to do when you pay a professional to do it. Luckily my company is covering that part, my only problem is replacing the stock lights.

if you just want some oem style lights, get the $100 shipped clear ones off ebay. they are not too bad for the price and look pretty nice.
