01 vic Guage cluster

So I just noticed tonight that the top light on my tach went out on me. I know there are threads about changing the lights out as well as threads about swapping the entire cluster. Can i get some input from some people that have done both so I can decide the best way of fixing this?
Cheers!

Re: 01 vic Guage cluster

replacing the bulb is easy. you can get the proper size from the dealer for your exact car model. to replace it, lower the steering wheel, and remove the two screws holding the top of the bezel on. stick your hands into the back of the bezel and pull hard towards you. it is stuck with glue. then the cluster can be removed by taking out the two side screws and one top screw. unplug green and blue connectors and turn the cluster over to see the twist sockets.

www.autolumination.com but i have no idea what the bulb size is. you gotta take it off and try to match it up. they are different between 01 and 02 civics also. the color bulbs tend to fade tho, and the leds dont last very long either.

Re: 01 vic Guage cluster

If you decide to do a full-on LED swap like I did, bear in mind it's going to be a LOT of work to be done right. Gear has done some pretty slick stuff too, I'm sure he's got a way that's easier than mine. Regardless, it's definitely not the easiest route. Most satisfying, to be sure, but not easy in any way, shape, or form.
