An issue with Foglights ! (fuse)
An issue with Foglights ! (fuse)
Ok I did the search and didnt find too much of infor on this one.
All of us that have bought Fog Lights from EBAY have had one or another issue related to something. My problem used to be the fuse. 5 minutes after Installation my fogs stopped working and I came on the forums and searched and asked people and they told me that the FUSE that comes with the EBAY FOgs are cheap ones. So I went to AUTOZONE and got meself a little box of fuses and replaced it with a 15amp one. now 6 months it was fine .. last week my fogs stopped working again. I went under the harness stuff and found the same kind of MELTED FUSE.
What can be done to avoid this in future? put a 20amp fuse ? or what ?

uh 15 amp is really high, youre trying to cover up the problem, and thats gonna = car on fire as mentioned above. whats the stock headlight fuse, like 7.5 amp? you need to fix the problem which is the fog light harness, not the fuse. if the fuse is blowing, its because somethings wrong.

yes. 55w/12v=4.58A so bare minimum to run 2-55w bulbs, you need a 10a. however, if you have a 15A fuse then you need to make sure the wires are at least 18ga, but 16ga would be better.

uh guys ... but the foglights came with the 15amp fuse in the first place... i just replaced the ebay fuse (which was 15amp also and lasted like 2 minutes) with an Autozone fuse. Anyone else over here who bought Yellow fogs from Ebay specifically by seller TRENDGEAR can easily verify it. And I did post to ask what might be wrong when the fuse went bad on the first day and members here told me to replace it with a good autozone fuse coz the ebay fuses suck in quality ...
