i am looking into replacing my idq's, either 2 12's or 3 or 3 10's, the idq v2's come in 4 ohm and 2 ohm from what i have seen. i don't know much about ohm loads, i did a search, but didn't help. if i have a rockford 225.2 amp powering them, how do i know what is best combination? i have 3 10's right now (oooooold ones) and i love em, but they were given to me and i can't find the ohms on em. also any suggestions on 12's or 10's (idq)? i listen to punk-emo mostly, but girlfriend likes rap and stuff so i need bass too.

2 ohms is better than 4 ohms. lower resistance, more power.

if you get 2 12's

Duel 4 -can get you a 1, 4 or 16 ohm load
duel 2 -can get you a .5, 2, 8 ohm load
single 4- can get you a 2 or 8 ohm
single 2- can get you a 1 or 4 ohm


i like sticking with even number of voice coils or you will get weird ohm loads

for that amp you'll want the dual 4ohm subs..I'd get the 12's and put them in a low tuned ported enclosure..that way it'll still be tight and puncy.. Play the low notes Quite well..and have a little extra output..
