I have a pioneer avic z1 that i'm wantin to put in the 05 civic SE dash.... but my problem is that I can't find a double din dash kit. When I put it in the dash without the dash kit I have about a 1 inch gap all around the unit. Any suggestions or am I gonna have to make my own with ABS??? Any info would be awesome. thanks

You have to get the standard civic piece, and get the Metra double din kit. Or custom mold it into what you have.

cut the center piece out of a single din dash kit

Use the Metra 99-7865 Dash Kit. Will work like a charm.
