Question 7thgen EM2 Amp Install

Looking to install a 4channel amp in the car. I already have a 2 channel under the pass seat. Would this other amp fit under the drivers seat?

or am I looking to put it in the trunk?

anybody have pics of trunk installs?

Re: 7thgen EM2 Amp Install

This is one of my amps and a cap mounted to the back seat. Nothing special, just used strips of wood behind the metal grid.

I don't like underseat mounts due to the climate where I'm at but if it fits (and you don't live in MN/Canada/wherever :P) I don't see why you couldn't mount there.

Yeah mounting under the seat should be ok.

However....

If you have a sedan the people in the back seat may kick it our something.

We all know that's not cool at all.

^ what he said, also, make sure you have room to adjust the seat without hitting it too. also, top mounted/facing fans are a plus. i bet it will get pretty hot under there...

Re: 7thgen EM2 Amp Install

plus you've got the floor air vents under the seat, so you may be blowing hot air on the amp or at least adding heat during the winter. could cause problems if the amp is high power.

Re: 7thgen EM2 Amp Install

here are some pics of a trunk install. I already had the 4ga power (red), but I just ran a 4ga ground (blue) to eliminate some probs I had with my amp cutting out.

Re: 7thgen EM2 Amp Install

i think u should mount it behind ur back seat. the thinner one that folds down. open up the zipper and slip ina thin peice of plywood. depending on how big ur 4chnl will be, it should fit nicely there. under the seat u might have to do alot of..."adjusting" to get it how u want down there without having people kicking it or ramming it with ur seat. just my 2 pennies

Re: 7thgen EM2 Amp Install

thats what i had right before i moved my amp to on the back of the backseat. i had mine drilled into the wood on my single sub box. that works too its just crap when u want to adjust settings. either way there clean and out of the way looks.
