Re: Check out the work in progress

In regards to your amps, you'd be better off doing the distro block. That way, you will avoid unecessary ground loops.

That's fine, but that's seperate from upgrading the battery ground cable. you still need to do that. you can't have tons of amps going to a distro and that having a 1/0 going to the chassis and then have a stock 8ga ground cable on the battery. you'll fry the cable. actually, if you still have the stock alternator and stock power cable which is 8 ga, you won't need anything in your system bigger than 4 ga since your bottleneck in power will be the 8ga. if you have a bigger alternator with 4ga or something, then 1/0 will be fine for grounds.

Thumbs up Re: Check out the work in progress

I totally dig it.... and I still love the lambo doors. Guess I'm a little more old school. Can't wait to see when it's done.

you have to run parallel. you can't run series unless you change the alternator to 24 or 36 volt output and get all 24 or 36 volt components. running them in parallel will allow a larger supply of ampreage while still being 12volts. if you're running 3 batts, i hope you at least have a 170A output alternator or bigger.

i got all the respect in the world for the army and marine guys on the ground that are close to the action. you guys do a job that i wouldn't want to do, and a job that most people in this ungreatful country couldn't even fathom. most of the time our aircraft are parked in safe locations, which means we're safe as well. of course there's always terrorism threats, but for the most part, the AF life is pretty good.

that sucks man. the AF almost didn't let me in because of a broken bone that i had my freshman year in high school. i had to get 2 different doctors to check me out and then they still harrassed me at MEPS. 130's a cool to work on, but not too much fine to fly in. i've spent way too many 12+ hour trips in them. the 16's on the other hand are a bitch to work on (everything's so tight and crammed together) but awesome to fly in. i got a 2 hour incentive flight in one out in vegas. it was something i had dreamed of doing since i saw the thunderbirds at an air show when i was 4. i finally got to do it. here's 2 videos from my myspace site:
