Since there is always that chance that I may not like the HID's when installed I was going to go for one of the cheaper kits. Bad mistake? They pretty much all look like about the same thing and use the same bulbs so I figured any of them will do as long as the install is 100% PNP and easy to do. Am I wrong?

It seems the best range to stay in for light output is 4300-6000 or does one of the higher ranges look better? I want that Q45 look!

Any help maybe from someone that has sampled these kits on E-Bay would be much appreciated. Thanks!

i would stick with 4300k light color which is the brightest light. all of those kits are same quality, youre just giving the seller more money for the same junk. do you know theres a vendor here selling kits for 125 shipped?? thats pretty cheap to me

wow there are alot of lies in there. that guy has no clue what hes saying. and youll need a relay wire harness to even install it. suvlights.com sells em for around $35

So does ANYONE make a true ready to go kit? I am reading some thread here now saying you need some kind of reflectors for glare? Does anyone make a kit that has all of this incorporated in where a man can just connect the stuff and get the desired results?

i really doubt it. the only one i remember was the old kit i had a few years back made by catz of japan, but they were a real company making oem equipment and now that hid kit is illegal, you cant buy them anymore. came with a full relay harness, glare shields and everything.

I have been talking back and forth with this seller and his kit DOES include the relay harness. He even mentions it in the ad so I guess at least one does:

Seems some are just plug into the light wiring that is there type of deal. What is the relay harness needed for? Maybe I don't need it. I am confused on this.

cool go for it then. the only other thing is sometimes the bulbs dont match cause there is no standard to follow like oem. but yea its cheap, so if you dont like it no big loss. theyre cheap enough. the relay harness used thick wire that feeds directly from the battery to the hid ballast to give maximum power. when the ballast is first turned on, it draws upto 20 AMPS of current. over time this will fry the stock wiring, which is so thin im surprised it even works for halogens. some factory harness will not even ignite both ballast because there is physically not enough power capacity in the wires to deliver the needed voltage.

This guy has been great to talk to and has 100% feedback with thousands of transactions on E-Bay. That is hard to do alone!

Comes with the relay wiring harness if you put it in the comments. Just trying to decide which rating to go with but I think 4300 will give the best results.

4300k ftw. 3200 lumen.

6000k is only 2400 lumen, after that you approach halogen lumens and useless for 8000k+ color.

i bought some new HIDS from ebay last week. 12000K and i absolutely love the output. Its way better then the old hid kit that I had. I thought it was gonna be a terrible choice to get t off ebay but I stand corrected... It looks so much better then all my friends hids. People just think the same now-a-days about ebay parts. I've been on ebay buying car parts and I do know that alot of stuff on there is junk, but thisby far was best deal I have yet ad on ebay.

DONG is selling them here for $113 shipped (could have saved you $30) and there's someone in his thread that's already posted results and there's several more with the lights on the way. the H4 he sells have the glare shield on them already. no need to buy extra ones. you did the right thing by getting 4300k's though.

Is that high and low beam? I have to check with the guy I just bought mine from. I thought they come with both but I got this reply from another kind of after the fact:

based on that link you sent, i truely doubt it's a bi-xenon setup. the cheap sellers will have an HID with a halogen high beam right next to it. those are garbage. the next thing up is a bulb that moves so it hits the reflectors differently. those are garbage too. gearbox has output pics of those. the only good conversion kits are the true bi-xenons that will have a shield (like DONG's does) on the low beam so there's not much glare. then on high beam, a solenoid removes part of the shield so it behaves just like the high beam filament in an H4 bulb. this is how OEM bi-xenon projectors work on bimmers, mercedes, acura, lexus, etc. DONG's bi-xenon's are $220 shipped which is cheap for a good bi-xenon.

the bulb solenoid deal makes the beam look just like stock highs imo, which are also useless. the separate reflector like on the aftermarket projectors is much better cause it actually puts light out near the car and also in the distance. stock h4 only puts it way out and above, leaving you with a huge black spot.

4300k is not yellow. yes, you need to ask if they have a solenoid or if they have a halogen for the high beam. the HID and halogen combo is not good IMO. when you ask about the solenoid, ask if it moves the bulb or if it moves the shield out of the way. 3 different ways to do the high beam on these HID kits.

no offense, but do your research next time before pulling the trigger so quick. you started the thread asking questions and in less than a day, you made a purchase that you seem unsure about. i waited and researched for 2 months before i went with my HID setup. just be patient. someone on here is bound to have tried something that you're thinking about already.

I'm not sure but I will live with what I get. Still not getting good answers here so would it really have mattered? I can't even get a clear answer on how the bulbs look or which system is best. The sellers for the most part will tell you what you want to hear IMO. This has been here for a while now and I don't see a ton of people chiming in with some good details. I think that high end option you are talking about is in the $300 range which does not = for me.... regardless if it is the ****! Are you even talking about a single bulb setup or one with dual bulbs. If you can't explain it with some better detail such as pictures and lay-out then maybe it is best if you don't post to my thread since I need real details, links, pictures, etc...

everything has been described in detail already. you can search google just as easy as i can to find pics, or browse through the listings on ebay and find the pics just as easy as i can. and no, it's not $300. i already told you it's $220 shipped which is only about $70 or so more than what you paid. if you're too lazy to do the work, then yes, i can try to dig up some pics for you since you don't understand the descriptions that have already been said. i'm not trying to be an ***, but with the attitude of your last post, i'm hesitant to help you anymore at all. i've been trying to help you from the start, but you seem ungreatful.

Yes please move on to another thread. I think Gearbox was the only one to really make some sense of the three offerings so far. Kind of wish he would jump back in here and go through some definitions of what he has seen with the three.

Mine shipped today so I will post back with pictures and if I like them or not... also if they do what I want or not.

here's the bixenon that moves the bulb. pretty sure this is what gearbox had where you have good light in low beam, but high beam, there's not much close to the car and it's too high off in the distance. this does however give you a xenon high beam, unlike the xenon/halogen combo below.



here's the one that has a xenon low beam and halogen high beam. 2 problems with this. 1st, since the halogen isn't centered, it won't be very effective since it won't be at the proper focal point for the high beams. 2nd, the xenon will turn off when you go to high beam and that switching a lot is rough on the xenon bulb. this setup is pretty much the worst results.

and here's what they call the "true bi-xenon" and is supposed to have the best results. here's the low beam position:

in the first pic, the shield prevents the light going down and it only goes up, just like the low beam filament of an H4 halogen (has a shield around the bottom of the low filament). the second pic allows the light to go down like the high beam filament of an H4 (no shield on the high filament). like gearbox said, with this setup, you will have light going from the low and high position at the same time, unlike the other 2 HID setups or the H4 halogen setup. it's the best of both worlds.

that's the one that the bulb moves that gearbox had and said was worthless in high beam. see how long the base is? that allows the whole bulb assembly to move in and out to simulate low and high beam. see how the shield completely covers the bottom part of the bulb? that's great for low beam and will greatly reduce glare. in low beam, you only want the top part of the bulb to light the top part of the headlamp. that's the part that reflects down closer to the car. the lower part of the headlamp is what the high beam works with. it reflects up and further off in the distance. with that big shield in the way, the light won't directly hit the bottom of the reflector.

idk just get whatever. im confused too. our housings dont do hi beam well even the stock halogen so dont expect much. just dont get the one that has a halogen bulb attached next to the hid cause thats the worst.

4300k oem white (slight yellow)
5000k bright white (pure white)
6000k white with blue tints
8000k pure blue
12000k pure purple

fyi, those gigantic bulbs will shake like a **** over bumps. mine sure did and when i played with the bulb in the back it just moved all around like it was on a pivot mount. i think the oem hid bulb and h4 casper adapters would not have this problem since its pretty much like a stock hid with halogen base.

just get the single beam with the halogen high beam its the best bet...you see cops switch to high beams they are so **** they look like stock lowbeams...and ull be flossing with 6k whereever else.. BAALLLLIN
