well if you can replace that hi beam bulb maybe thats the way to go. will prolly give the best beam but really the highs suck. just go with lo beam only. i doubt youll ever need the highs with all the light and glare from the lows.

It arrived today. It looks like the ballasts are housed in Stainless Steel. The kit looks of pretty good quality! The bulb has a shield at the back of it where it moves up and down and it his a opening/slot in the outer part of the housing. I don't know how well it will work but I guess we will see!
Hopefully the pic comes through:

did that harness come with it? or did you buy that seperate? it's kind of hard to tell, but it looks like that harness has a relay on it. what is the black box on the bottom right of the harness in the pic? is the yellow item a fuse? does it instruct you to connect the harness to the battery or just the H4 connector. i see only one H4 connector which leads me to believe it's a relay harness. if that's the case, then that's great.

im glad this thread is here and im glad its got some more detail and pics now..i jus bought some shitty brighter lights from autozone (rice central) and there garbage..im going to upgrade to some of these kinds of HIDs but this thread is really helping me decide...BEFORE i buy. thanks everyone...

Relay harness. I had to ask for it in the additional comments but it did come with it! They sell them seperate for $35.00. I paid $199.00 for the entire kit shipped and it arrived in 2 days. The maker is ExSun and they have a site.

Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
They give some instructions on how to "Tune" the covers. That could take some time but I imagine that is where the pay-off is in the results!
Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
I don't see any instructions for the relay harness. I may just put it on as-is tonight to see how it looks and do the harness when they forward the directions on it.
Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
I got them in yesterday. I didn't realize you have to take the front end off to change things.
My results are mixed! I like the output but have been fooling with the adjustment from low to high since it seems to be not so smooth of a transition. I also think the beams scatter more than they should. Maybe it is the housings? I can't remember what exactly the Halogens looked like now LOL! I may try them for a little and sell them and go with some Silverstars or something. Don't know at this point.

ive been through countless lighting setups and always found myself coming back to halogen. its a great beam just get some philips +50 vision plus and use them. hid is more of a novelty 'bling' and really isnt suited for automotive headlight. the light is too white, our eyes are more sensitive to yellowish light. and the cri index for hid is way too low so you cant see as much object color. just imo.

most consider them better than silverstars and they're cheaper. just search for "Philips Vision Plus +50" and you'll find several online retailers. gearbox knows of some local dealers too you may have in your area.

Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
silverstar in stores has coating that reduces light output for color. the +50 vp is a clear upgrade bulb that puts out 300 more lumens. and they are reliable unlike alot of the osram stuff which im beginning to think they are a rice company. everything i buy falls apart. the silverstar (clear version) lasted a week maybe and the filament just fell off, now the wedge bulbs for my sidemarker the orange is peeling off, geez. no more osram for me lol. philips ftw. look at autolamps-online.com for a bunch of bulb. the vp is there too.

I contacted Phillips and these are the brightest they have (Crystals). I ordered two today and will swap them in when they arrive:

Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
you shouldve asked me, those are def not the brightest, they are coated bulb to produce whiter light but their +80 extreme bulb is currently the brightest on the market by far and its also whiter due to a small dichroic ring coating on the tip. its a clear bulb tho for the most part but puts out the most light (highest legal limit on halogen) and is also whiter than stock. right now tho they only make H4 and H7 sizes.

they are white and bright, the crystalvision ultras that is (not the link you posted, those are the regulars). but even they are not the brightest since there is still the coating on the bulb. you can look on philips site for more info.

Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
Some more news and opinions needed...
The place where I got my HID's said I need to remove that metal cover that is in the housing. Is that possible? I told him I didn't think so but he said you must to let the light do its thing. Can these be removed? It may cure some or most of the problem.
Second thing is +80's from Philips aren't out yet according to their people I spoke with today. So for now the +50's are the highest.

Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
the +80 is out, someone on hondatech had them and posted pics of everything and installed. the bulb cover can come off if you open the headlamps, but youre gonna blind people like crazy because the hid bulb will be visible. and im sure a cop will pull you over for that.
Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
They told me it isn't out at all. I asked where I can buy it and they said nowhere. They said they aren't even packaged for shipment yet and will be a few months. What is involved in removing that cover and will it help with the patterns of the low/high beams?
Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
The place I got my HID's off of said I need to remove the end as pictured:

Will that help me any? Then I guess it will be relying on the inside shield that is part of the factory housing. Will that change things? This guy seems to think it will. Any thoughts?

Re: Interested in PNP HID light kits on E-Bay... which ones??
yeah, remove that part, not the shield inside the headlight housing. what that does is more closely mimick the low beam filament of the H4 bulb. if you look at one, you'll see what i mean. there's a small shield under the low filament. don't modify the headlight housing shield.
